Tenancy
Tenancy Advocates provide information and advice on tenancy issues to clients who live in the South East Metropolitan area. Assistance is provided to private and public tenants; including information, advice, ongoing casework and representation of Department of Housing appeals.
Issues the centre can assist with are Department of Housing and private rental tenants dealing with issues of rent and bond, breach of agreements, ending tenancies and bond disputes and tenants rights and responsibilities.
The Tenant Advocates can advise tenants of their options and negotiate directly with owners, real estate agents, community housing representatives or Department of Housing staff to resolve issues.
In addition the Tenant Advocates attend Armadale Magistrates Court each week to assist tenants with advice about their matter and the court process prior to the tenants entering court.
The Centre can also provide community education sessions on tenancy matters.
